Featured BookUkraine: Terror, Genocide, Memory and Resistance
24 February 2022, the Russian army invaded Ukraine. The invasion came from the north through Belarus that was the shortest route to the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Putin believed he would capture Ukraine in three days.
Local Ukrainian civilians held the line for a month until Ukrainian troops arrived. They fought creatively. To this day Ukrainian defenders are still fighting creatively and believed to be the best military force in Europe.
Ukraine’s past history is littered with extreme violence but it continues to display exceptional examples of survival, solidarity and resilience.
This book is about issues that have arisen as a result of the invasion by Russia. It will answer questions relating to current developments and outcomes within Ukraine.
It is two book in one with the previous Gold medal awarded book: “Holodomor: Silenced Voices of the Starved Children.” The narratives of eyewitnesses who lived through the famine genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine have been republished together within this book.
This book was published in 2026, with many insurgencies on both sides and with the war still raging.
It remains to be seen the outcome Russia’s current wave of terror/genocide. Again Ukrainians suffer at the hands of a madman and regime intent on gaining power and control.
Ukraine fights for her future and that of the free world.
